Dental implants, placed in this office
We place implants here rather than sending you across town, and we plan them on our own 3D scanner.
A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth with a small titanium post, and a crown goes on top of it. Unlike a bridge, it does not rely on the teeth either side, so the healthy teeth around the gap stay untouched.
Most general practices refer implants out. This one does not, because Dr. Chong Lee has been placing them for more than twenty years and does it here. That matters for a practical reason more than a clinical one: the person who plans it, places it and follows it up is the same person, in the same building, looking at the same records.
If cost is your first question, how implant pricing is calculated explains what moves the number before you come in.
How a visit actually goes.
- 01
A 3D scan, taken here
We take a cone beam scan in the office, which shows the bone in three dimensions rather than as a flat picture. That scan is what the plan is built on, and you see it on the screen with us.
- 02
A plan you can see
We walk through what is possible, what it involves, and how long it takes. You leave knowing the sequence and the cost before anything is scheduled.
- 03
Placement, in this office
The implant is placed here by Dr. Chong Lee. Nothing about your care moves to an unfamiliar office or a team you have not met.
- 04
Healing, then the tooth
The implant needs time to fuse with the bone. Once it has, we fit the crown, and we check it at your regular visits from then on.
The honest answer on price.
We do not publish a single figure for this, because the number depends on what your case actually needs. Here is what moves it.
- How many teeth are being replaced, and whether they are next to each other
- Whether the bone needs building up before an implant can be placed
- Whether the tooth being replaced still needs to come out
- What your dental plan contributes, which we check before you start
Every case is different, so treat any figure here as a starting point and not a quote. We will give you an exact number in writing after an exam, along with what your plan covers.
Questions patients ask
- How much do dental implants cost in Massachusetts?
- The honest answer is that it depends on what your case needs, and any practice quoting a single number without seeing you is guessing. Cost is driven by how many teeth are being replaced, whether the bone needs building up first, and what your plan contributes. We will give you an exact figure in writing after an exam.
- Do you do full mouth or all-on-4 implants?
- Full-arch cases are planned individually on the 3D scan, because how many implants an arch needs depends on the bone that is actually there. Come in for a consultation and we will show you the scan and tell you plainly whether it is a good option for you.
- Will my insurance cover an implant?
- Some plans contribute and some do not, and the ones that do often cover part of it rather than all. Call us with your plan details before you come in and we will check the benefits for you.
- Does it hurt?
- The placement itself is done with the area fully numb, and most patients say it was easier than they expected. Soreness afterward is normal for a few days and is usually managed with ordinary painkillers.
- How long does the whole process take?
- The implant needs months, not weeks, because the bone has to fuse to it before the tooth goes on. We will give you the timeline for your case at the consultation rather than a general one.
