Prime Time Smiles, Chelmsford

Same-day emergency dentistry

A broken tooth or sudden pain should not have to wait until next week. Call us and we will see you the same day.

If swelling is spreading toward your eye or neck, or you have any trouble breathing or swallowing, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 before you call us. That is a medical emergency first and a dental one second.

We are open weekdays and keep emergency slots open through the day. If you call and we are closed, leave a message and we will pick it up when we open.

Not sure whether yours counts? What counts as a dental emergency goes through the common ones and what to do for each.

If a tooth has been knocked out completely, keep it in milk and call immediately. Time genuinely matters for that one.

What happens

How a visit actually goes.

  1. 01

    Call, do not book online

For anything urgent, phone the office. The front desk can triage it and put you in a slot faster than an online form can.

  2. 02

    Tell us what happened

Swelling, a knocked-out tooth and a lost filling are three different levels of urgent. Saying which it is helps us get you in at the right time.

  3. 03

    We settle the problem first

The first visit is about stopping the pain and making the tooth safe. Anything that can wait is planned properly afterwards rather than rushed.

Questions patients ask

Can I see a dentist today in Chelmsford?
Call us and we will find you a same-day slot if we possibly can. Emergency appointments are built into the weekday schedule rather than squeezed in.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Pain that stops you sleeping or working, swelling in the face or gum, a tooth knocked out or broken, and bleeding that will not stop. If you are unsure, call and describe it.
I broke a tooth. What do I do right now?
Rinse with warm water, keep any pieces, and call us. Avoid chewing on that side until we have seen it, because a cracked tooth usually gets worse quickly.
Are you open at weekends?
No. We are open Monday to Thursday from 9 to 6 and Friday from 9 to 5, and closed on Saturday and Sunday. Leave a message outside those hours and we will call you back when we open.

Ready when you are.

This one is booked over the phone rather than online, so the front desk can put you with the right dentist for the right length of visit.
